Lieutenant Colonel Oren
Lieutenant Colonel Oren attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in International Studies and Spanish, in May 2002.
Lieutenant Colonel Oren attended The Basic School (TBS) in January 2005. Upon completion of TBS in June 2005, she underwent intelligence office training at Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana Dam Neck Annex in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and was designated an Air Intelligence Officer in October 2005.
Lieutenant Oren was assigned to Marine Air Group (MAG) 26 aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina as the MAG-26 Rear Detachment S-2. Upon redeployment of the MAG, Lieutenant Oren attended the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course executed by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One in March 2006.
In May 2006, Lieutenant Oren was assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 167. During this three year tour with the “Warriors”, she deployed to Al Asad Airbase, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as the squadron Intelligence Officer.
In June 2008, Captain Oren reported to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One aboard Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona. She served as the Assistant Intelligence Instructor in support of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor course. In January of 2010, serving as one of the MAWTS-1 assessors, Captain Oren supported the Georgia Development Program -1, in Hohenfels, Germany.
In August 2011, Captain Oren reported to the Expeditionary Warfare School aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. During the 41-week resident course, she attended the Intelligence Tactics Instructor course in Twenty-nine Palms, California. Upon graduation from EWS, Captain Oren attended the MAGTF Intelligence Officer Course at NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex in Virginia Beach, and was a distinguished graduate.
In July 2012, Captain Oren reported to 1st Intelligence Battalion on Camp Pendleton, California. During this four year tour, she deployed in October 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Fusion Officer for 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade - Afghanistan. Upon redeployment in June 2014, she served as the Assistant Operations Officer and Direct Support Company Commander. In her fourth year serving at the battalion, she served as the Operations Company Commander and Director of the I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Intelligence Center.
Major Oren was selected to attend Marine Corps Command and Staff College located in Quantico, Virginia. She earned a Master’s Degree in Military Studies, and was a distinguished graduate.
In June of 2017, Major Oren reported to EWS. In the first three years of this tour, she served as a Faculty Advisor and Course Director. During her fourth year, Lieutenant Colonel Oren served as the Chief Instructor.
