Sgt. Maj. Jeremiah P. Bergeron

Jeremiah Paul Bergeron enlisted in the Marine Corps on 11 September 2001 and attended Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina. Private First Class Bergeron graduated from recruit training in December 2001 and received orders The School of Infantry East (Infantry Training Battalion) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina in January 2002 where he received the MOS 0311.

Upon graduation the School of Infantry in March 2002, Private First Class Bergeron received orders to Bravo Company 1st Battalion 5th Marines, Camp Pendleton California, and served as an Infantry Rifleman. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in June 2002.  During his time with 1st Battalion 5th Marines, he was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom  (OIF) from February 2003 to May 2003 and then again to (OIF.II) from December 2003 to June 2004 and served in the Battle of Fallujah in April 2004.  In February 2005, Lance Corporal Bergeron received orders to Weapons and Field Training Battalion Edson Range, Camp Pendleton California.

In March 2005, Lance Corporal Bergeron was promoted to Corporal and was assigned as an Assistant Field Instructor with Field Company at Weapons and Field Training Battalion Edson Range from March 2005 to May 2007. He was promoted to Sergeant in March of 2006. In May 2007 Sergeant Bergeron was reassigned to Range Company at Weapons and Field Training Battalion Edson Range as a Marksmanship Instructor. Sergeant Bergeron also served on the MCRD San Diego Rifle Shooting Team from December 2007 to January 2008 and competed in 5 rifle computations.      

In February 2008, Sergeant Bergeron reserved orders to Charlie Company 1st Battalion 4th Marines at Camp Pendleton, California where he served as a Squad Leader from February 2008 to May 2008. In April 2008 Sergeant Bergeron was reassigned as a Platoon Sergeant 3rd PLT and was deployed to Iraq from October 2008 to April 2009.

In October 2009, Sergeant Bergeron received orders to the Basic Recruiters Course at MCRD San Diego, California, and graduated in December 2009 from Basic Recruiter Course. He received the MOS 8411 and in January 2010 he was assigned to Recruiting Station Orlando Florida as a Production Recruiter. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in February 2010 and received the MOS 0369. Staff Sergeant Bergeron served as both a Production Recruiter and an Officer Selection Assistant during his tour on Recruiting Duty. While on Recruiting Duty, Staff Sergeant Bergeron completed Infantry Unit Leaders Course in 2012 at the School of Infantry East Camp Geiger, North Carolina.      

In August 2013, Staff Sergeant Bergeron received orders to Alpha Company 1st Battalion 7th Marines Twenty-nine Palms, California where he was assigned as a Rifle Platoon Commander and led a Platoon through the 45 day live fire exercise at Weapons and Tactics Instruction (WTI) in Yuma Arizona, from September 2013 to October 2013.  He was reassigned as a Platoon Sergeant in October 2013 and deployed to (OEF Training Mission Jordan) from July 2014 to September 2014. In October 2014 Staff Sergeant Bergeron was reassigned to the billet of Battalion Assistant Operations Chief and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in October 2015. Gunnery Sergeant Bergeron was deployed in support of SPMAGTF Operation Inherent Resolve in Kuwait from October 2015 to April 2016.

In May 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Bergeron received orders to the College of Enlisted Military Education, Staff Non-Communication Officer Academy (SNCOA)  29 Palms California, where he served as Faculty Advisor, Sergeants School SNCOIC,  and Acadomy  Deputy Director. In February 2019 he advanced  the level of Master Faculty Advisor. In June 2019 Gunnery Sergeant Bergeron was recognized as  the 2019 Enlisted Dr. Elihu Rose Award recipient for teaching excellence from the Marine Corps University.

In January 2020 Gunnery Sergeant Bergeron was frocked to First Sergeant and revived orders to 2nd Maintenance Battalion Camp Lejeune, NC for duties as Company First Sergeant, he served as the Company First Sergeant for General Support Maintenance Company, Motor Transport Maintenance Company, Headquarter and Service Company, and 2nd Maintenance Battalion's Sergerant Major. First Sergeant Bergeron was promoted to Sergeant Major in March 2024 and recived orders to Wouned Warrior Battalion East for duties as Battalion Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major Bergeron's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal,  Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with 2 gold stars), and the Combat Action Ribbon.

Sergeant Major Bergeron is married to retired GySgt Amneri Lopez Vazquez USMC of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
