Sgt. Maj. Esther C. Henriquez
Sergeant Major, Wounded Warrior Regiment

Sergeant Major Esther C. Henriquez was born in Pomona, California, a native of Sunnyside, Washington, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in May 2001. Sergeant Major Henriquez completed recruit training in August at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, Beaufort, South Carolina. In October 2001, Sergeant Major Henriquez was assigned the military occupational specialty (MOS) 3052 - Preservation, Packaging, and Packing (PP&P).

Throughout her career, she has served in numerous billets at various locations across the nation and around the world. She served as a Packaging Specialist, the Hazardous Material Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Wooden Fabrication Section Staff NCOIC, and Fiscal Chief while assigned to PP&P, 1st Supply Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California, 3dSupply Battalion, Okinawa, Japan, and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24 (MALS-24), Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Additionally, Sergeant Major Henriquez served as the Operations Chief for the Marine Air-Ground Task Force's Materiel Distribution Center in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan; the Tax Center Deputy Director while serving with the Legal Services Support Section with Combat Logistics Regiment 37, Okinawa, Japan; Drill Instructor with Company N, and Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Chief Drill Instructor, and Company First Sergeant while assigned to Company O, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, Parris Island, South Carolina.

Upon promotion to First Sergeant in March 2016, Sergeant Major Henriquez has served in many billets across the MAGTF in her newly assigned 8999 MOS. She served as Company First Sergeant while assigned to Food Service Company, Headquarters Regiment, Camp Pendleton, California; Headquarters Company and General Support Company while serving with 8th Communication Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; and Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant while serving with Marine Forces Reserve at Company D and Headquarters and Service Company, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Tampa, Florida. Sergeant Major Henriquez's deployments include Operation IRAQI FREEDOM to Iraq in 2004 with 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Service Support Group 15 Forward, and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM to Afghanistan in 2010 with 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15

Forward. She has also supported various training exercises to include Integrated Training Exercise 4-18 in Twentynine Palms, California, and a multinational maritime exercise -UNITAS LX 2019 in Brazil.

Sergeant Major Henriquez was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station New River on 6 December 2022 as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of Site Support New River, Marine Aircraft Group 49, in support of Marine Forces Reserve Squadrons Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 774 (VMM-774) and MALS-49.

Sergeant Major Henriquez assumed her current position aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico on 31 October 2025 as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of Wounded Warrior Regiment, Quantico, VA.

Sergeant Major Henriquez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Psychology from National University. Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars, and various other Service and Campaign medals.
