2025 Air Force & Marine Corps Trials
About the Trials
The 2nd annual Air Force & Marine Corps Trials (AFMCT), hosted by the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment and Air Force Wounded Warrior Program, will take place in San Antonio, Texas on March 14, 2025 to March 20, 2025.
The Air Force & Marine Corps Trials is a Paralympic-style competitive event featuring sports adapted to the individual capabilities of the wounded warrior athletes from the Marine Corps and Air Force as well as international competitors from the Republic of Georgia and the United Kingdom.
Participation on Team Marine Corps is open to active duty, reserve, and veteran wounded, ill, or injured Marines and Sailors of all skill levels. AFMCT serves to evaluate the performance of Marine and Sailors in both individual and team sports, with the top athletes afforded an opportunity to represent the Marine Corps at the 2025 Department of Defense Warrior Games. International competitors round out the playing field, bringing a high level of competition to the event. Organized into four competing teams, participants represent Team Marine Corps, Team Air Force , the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Georgia.
Participation on Team Marine Corps provides an opportunity for all wounded, ill, or injured Marines, Sailors, and veterans to further the rehabilitation of their mind, body, and spirit through competition and camaraderie. For some, the AFMCTis a milestone in their personal athletic goals. For others, it is an opportunity to experience new activities and connect with their fellow wounded warriors. For all of the participants, the Trials are a chance to come together and focus on their abilities and build camaraderie.
Participants will have the opportunity to compete in archery, cycling, field, powerlifting, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, rowing, track, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby. Additionally, recovering service members and care givers will have the opportunity to participate in care events, which include a Resiliency Workshops, Empowerment 2 Employment Workshop, and a Caregiver Workshop.
