Sergeant Major Allred enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1994. Upon graduation from boot camp at Parris Island in 1995, PFC Allred attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina where he obtained the MOS of 0811.
Upon completion of MCT in June of 1995, PFC Allred reported to Fort Sill Oklahoma where he successfully completed the Cannon Crewmember Course at the U.S. Army Field Artillery School in August of 1995.
In August of 1995, Pfc Allred checked into Lima Battery 3/10 aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C. Pfc Allred was promoted meritoriously to Lance Corporal on December 2, 1995 and was entrusted with the position of Assistant Section Chief of Gun one. LCpl Allred deployed with Battalion Landing Team 2/8, 24th MEU, MARFORLANT from June 1996 to December 1996.
In February of 1997, LCpl Allred was selected to join the Second Marine Division Color Guard as the Left Rifleman. LCpl Allred was promoted to Corporal on March 1, 1997, where he obtained the title of Right Rifleman and later became the Organizational Colors Bearer until March of 1998.
In February of 1998, Cpl Allred rejoined Lima 3/10 as Assistant Section Chief of Gun one and remained as such until his promotion to Sergeant on July 1, 1998. Sgt Allred was then assigned to take over the Lima Battery Reconnaissance and Local Security Chief position. Sgt Allred ended his active duty service in February of 1999 as the Battalion Color Sergeant and Battalion Facilities Chief.
In July of 2001 Sgt Allred reentered the Marine Corps as a Corporal and was sent to SOI, ITB, Camp Pendleton Ca. as a 0341 Mortarman. Cpl Allred successfully completed the basic Mortarmen course and was selected to remain at the School of Infantry as a Squad Instructor/Marine Combat Instructor at Delta Company ITB. Cpl Allred was promoted to Sergeant for the second time on November 1, 2002. Sgt Allred completed 13 cycles successfully and was sent to the Instructor Group as the NCOIC of the Basic Mortarmen Course where he remained until August of 2004.
In August of 2004 Sgt Allred checked into 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Camp Pendleton Ca, Weapons Company as Section Leader of the 81mm platoon. Sgt Allred deployed to Iraq from October 2005 to March of 2006. In 2006 Sgt Allred was promoted to Staff Sergeant (0369) and deployed again with Bravo Company 2007 as Platoon Sergeant of 3rd platoon. Upon returning in 2007, SSgt Allred became an (0313) and was appointed the Operations Chief for Bravo Company creating training for Blocks I and II before receiving orders in 2008 for Marine Combat Instructor School at SOI, Camp Pendleton, Ca.
In September of 2008, SSgt Allred successfully completed the Marine Combat Instructor Course and checked into Advanced Infantry Training Battalions, Light Armored Vehicle Training Course as a Marine Combat Instructor with the Light Armored Reconnaissance Leaders Course. In 2010, SSgt Allred was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and became Chief Instructor of the Crewman Course until he executed orders to Camp Lejeune, N.C. in October of 2011.
Gunnery Sergeant Allred checked into 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Camp Lejeune, N.C. and became the Operations Chief for Bravo Company from which he remained until his promotion to First Sergeant.
In March of 2013, 1stSgt Allred was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and remained in Bravo Company, 2d LAR as the Company 1stSgt. Bravo Company deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3/6, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit from December 2014 to July 2015.
1stSgt Allred received orders to report to Deployment Processing Command, Reserve Support Unit West, Camp Talega, Camp Pendleton, California in January 2016, as the Command Senior Enlisted Advisor and Area 64 Sergeant Major. In January of 2019, SgtMaj Allred received orders to Marine Aircraft Wing-41, Detachment Bravo aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar where he remained until current assignment to Wounded Warrior Battalion-West.
SgtMaj Allred’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal in Lieu of 3rd award, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal in Lieu of 3rd award.
